In this glossy covered instalment of the Braingasm Podcast we are sans Cesca but we have a super awesome guest in the form of maker of awesome independent comic books, Mike Gagnon (@themikegagnon).
We began as we do every week with Ben forgetting what episode number we are on…
After that the boys discussed the perils of crossing the Burlington skyway and told the story of their introduction(s) to one another.
The conversation then shifted to the trials and tribulations of being a local independent artist/comic. Mike unveiled a project that he is heavily involved in which gives people in this position access to a network of resources and services tailored to helping facilitate the thriving (and even survival) of up and coming talent (http://www.selfpubmag.com/). It’s a really awesome endeavour that you should all check out.
They also discussed the comics in general with the kind of reverent irreverence that you have come to expect from this show. Spoiler Alert: Cyclops is a little bitch. Mike also discussed a very entertaining comic that he is working on which can be found here http://thestandardcomic.com/
You may have already figured this out but this is an awesome episode. To check out everything that Mike does check out his personal website http://mikegagnon.wix.com/mikeg I hope that you’ll enjoy it as much as we did and tell literally all of your friends. Until next time, msagniarb <—— Sent back to the 5th dimension
Hey gang. This Cargasm is a blast from the recent past. It was recorded about a month ago and I’ve been holding on to it in case of emergency. It being released must indicate that that was a good idea.
The topic of conversation this time is COMEDY MOVIES! We get down and dirty into a discussion that touches on what makes a movie a comedy movie, favourite movies and the quotes from those movies, Jim Carrey, and (just to kick him in the balls) the fact that Ben hasn’t seen Jaws.
Stay tuned until later in the week when we will be releasing the episode proper for this week with a super special guest. Until then enjoy this taste of the road.
After that we flipped the album over to the B-side to also provide commentary for the video Rifle Burs (http://youtu.be/BrU_ef7DQgs). Needless to say fun was had. We then shifted the conversation to a discussion of Ben’s history with the sun. Needless to say, they have a checkered past.
Following that we “announced”? the 2013 Summer Movie Wager. We talked about our past movie wagers, our successes and failures and what we have learned from them, changes to the rules moving forward and all that good stuff. If you want to participate let that be heard by mentioning @braingasmpod or post on our facebook fan page (facebook.com/braingasmpod).
After that we talked at length about the season 1 finale of Vikings, concluding our complete coverage of this first full season of the show. Unlike past weeks we talked at length about both spoilers and non-spoilers so regardless of if you have watched the show there is plenty here for you to chew on.
This was a long, but fun and eventful Braingasm. Like the best episodes there is something here for absolutely everything. Even you hypnotoad!
In this our 93rd episode of the Braingasm Podcast we are Ragnarolling all over our bed of dicks.
We began as we do every week discussing the role that creationism in schools.
After that we continued the discussion of politics (not preachy or one-sided we swear). This dovetailed nicely into a discussion our thoughts on entertainment news in relation to the entertainment itself. Then because it wasn’t heady enough we discussed public personas in the internet age.
…Then we sang strage disease by Prozzäk.
After that we continued our ongoing coverage of History Channel’s Vikings. We split the discussion into first a non-spoilery section meant to talk about the episode generally in an effort to get people to start watching it. Following that we got balls deep into the episode leaving no spoiler rock unturned.
For those curious, the title is a reference to something discussed in the spoiler section. If you want to find out what was so funny, you’re going to have to watch Vikings. How’s that for salesmanship?
